Did anyone get caught out by the freak snowfall in the UK? Flights were cancelled, tube closed, no bus and train service, taxis hard to come by... it was amazing how unprepared we are for a few inches.

My hubby and I loved watching the pictures of London on TV. The buildings looked amazing in the unexpected snow. Hubby said that this is the first time the buses have stopped running- they even kept to scheudles during the blitzkrieg(sp?) in WWII! Hope it didn't cause too many severe difficulties- we in Charlotte, NC know what unexpectedly deep snow can do to a city.
