So Hi All, We are going to Scotland in December. Any thoughts on flying into London, train or car to Edinbough?? Or should we just fly straight to Edinbough. A little cheaper to go to London but more aggrivation too. Also, thanks to all who answered my questions about shoes in Scotland in December.
If you aren't planning on spending a few days in London then I would suggest flying Edinburgh. Even tho it a little cheaper for you to fly into London you will have the expense of getting to Edinburgh.
I would fly straight to Edinburgh or Glasgow. There are direct flights from Newark. It's around four hours from London to Edinburgh by train. And, since you're flying in from the US you need to leave a good cushion between your arrival and the train. It's a little under an hour from Heathrow to King Cross by the tube. It's all doable, but if you're not staying in London, then fly all the way. If you fly through Heathrow you will have to change terminals so factor that into your layover. It would be a long drive and you wouldn't want to do it the day you arrive on a transatlantic flight. ; ) Pam
