London,Paris and Spain Itinerary feedback

I need feedback from experienced travelers. April 2010 I’d like to spend 7 days in Europe, I am currently debating, whether I should do London, Paris, Toledo and Granada or spend the entire trip on the Iberian Peninsula instead. Possibly rent a car while there and drive to different cities and perhaps Morocco or Lisbon.

Itinerary 1:
• D1: London
• D2: London- train to Paris at night.
• D3: Paris
• D4: Flight to Madrid, rent car, do some site-seeing.
• D5: Toledo, drive to Granada.
• D6: Granada.
• D7: Granada to Florida (if possible)
One thing I am curious about this approach is, whether or not it’d possible to flight out of Granada back to Florida.

Itinerary 2:
• D1: Rent car, Madrid.
• D2: Toledo
• D3: Drive to Granada, Granada.
• D4: Drive To Gibraltar, Drive to Tarifa.
• D5: Morocco
• D6: Back to Madrid and maybe some other city along the way.
• D7: Flight home.

I will eventually buy Rick’s guide books, as I already have bought some of his traveling bags. I’ve done plenty of research regarding this matter, but other’s input/opinion/suggestion is always interesting.

With only 7 days (really only 5 with arrival/departures) I'd pick ONE place and STAY THERE. You could do day trips on one or two days. If you are really interested in Madrid, go there. With itinereary 1 you will not see London or Paris- just the train stations and airports. Even Itinerary 2 has alot of 'travel' in it. Think quality of experience, not quantity.

2's a lot better than #1, but still only gives you a half day in a half dozen places. By next year they're all going to blur together. Maybe stay in Madrid and make day trips from there by car (Toledo, Avila, Segovia). Then maybe a quick flight to Fez or Mk for a couple of nights before heading home -- or better yet, leave for home from Morocco.

I think that is too much traveling too. Listen to the advice to pick one location and do a couple of day trips from there. In your eagerness to see everything, with your plan you will really see nothing. Just plan to go back another time to see more places.

You guys are right. Just too much traveling for Itinerary 1. I'd do as Rick says, stay in one area and savor it.
Thanks all for your thoughts!
