What do you think the average cost per day would be with moderate sightseeing and meals?
Without lodging, somewhere between $100 and $150 should cover it assuming you eat at moderate to frugal spots. Probably a little higher in London than Paris.
Georgie, it depends what you classify as Moderate and what type of meals?? Sit down meals will be more expensive.
If you want sit down meals, lunch would be cheaper than dinner. Paris will be cheaper than London.
There's been a lot of posts about this topic. Just scroll to various pages and see what others have to say...

Thanks Michelle for all the information. Much appreciated.
I just got back from a trip to Paris, southern France and Spain. I allowed $100 per day spending, but withe Euro exchange rate, it was a little tight in France. I even had friends taking me out in France. Budget for $125 and you should have some money left over. I spent much less in Spain. I psent $1300 over 14 days total.
