I'm planning a trip to Germany and will spend a couple of days in the village of Herxheim bei Landau in the Pfalz. I've been researching on-line and found it hard to find hotels or pensions in the area. I was wondering if anyone else has stayed in Herxheim or nearby and can suggest places to stay. I'm trying to keep the cost around 80 euro per night. Thanks!

Well, there is a website for Herxheim at www.herxheim.de (surprise!). It's entirely in German, which might tell you something. Do you speak German?
The website does have a page for searching for accommodations, but I didn't find much. I suppose it is not really a tourist spot. Are you looking for an Einzelzimmer or a Doppelzimmer?

Hey Lee! I found the Herxheim website and I do read enough German to make do. I'm looking for a Doppelzimmer. I've sent for some tourism brochures so hopefully they'll have some additional info regarding accomodations. I don't think too many international tourists visit Herxheim but the pictures I've found of the area are very beautiful. Lot's of rolling hills and vineyards. Plus it's not too far from a large national forest in the Pflaz. Perfect territory for bike riding.

Also check with hrs.com. They may only list one hotel in Herxheim directly but there are many withing a 10km range...
