Lightweight Luggage within strict dimension limits

I am looking for extremely lightweight luggage but I need to keep the dimensions within tight restrictions. I will be travelling on Ryanair. Their Carry-on dimensions are 55cm X 40cm X 20cm, this comes out to 21.6" x 15.7" x 7.8". The total weight of the carry-on (including purse within) can not exceed 22 lbs. I have been having a lot of difficulty finding a bag. It must have wheels because there is a lot of walking involved. Most carry-on wheeled bags are thicker than 8". Has anyone ever found a carry-on that fits this description?

If Ryanair strictly enforces the 20cm thickness limit, it must be for some reason other than whether or not a bag that thick will fit in an overhead bin. My 9-inch thick wheeled bag fits in every bin I've used. You can always buy a more standard-sized carry-on wheeled bag and plan to check it. Or you could call Ryanair and ask if a slightly thicker bag is OK so long as it is within the linear total of 115cm. Dial 011 (US international access code) + 353 (country code for Ireland) + 1 249 7791.

I have carried on the Rick Steves' 21" Roll Aboard with no problems. It is 9" x 21" x 14".

The problem is usually keeping the bag under the 22 pound limit.

HEYS has a carry on 20x14x9. You can get HEYS at ebags.com, Target online, and more luggage store. The HEYS web site is http://www.heys.ca and its a Canadian company I believe.

I have the HEYS X-case and it fits perfectly in the overhead, and I use Rick's pack cubes to make sure I don't over pack.

I'm not sure the weight limit after you pack, but I have used it on my trips without problems.

Thank you for your replys. I have tried several times, in vain, to contact Ryanair by phone. I have dialed all the access codes and left off zeros and asked for operator assistance to no avail. I either get recordings (and yes, I am considering the time difference) or an American busy signal. I would love to speak to a human and ask them about the seriousness of the dimensions. I flew 4 years ago on Ryanair with the same bag I have today and there was never a problem getting the bag in the over-head. They are very clear about the new dimensions on their website. If they have one of those plexiglass cutouts at the security check-through that you have to squeeze your bag through to assure proper dimensions, an 8" deep bag will not fit through a 7.8" opening let alone a 9" deep bag.
I even tried calling Norway and Sweden to speak to a representative and only got recordings leading nowhere or American busy signals. Don't you love our new technological advances?

Part of the reason for their limit may the very strict size limits for all flights connecting through or departing a UK airport:

*
56 centimetres tall (approximately 22 inches)
*
45 centimetres wide (approximately 17.7 inches)
*
25 centimetres deep (approximately 10 inches)

If you will be flying through or from the UK, make sure your carry-on is within the size otherwise you will not be allowed to get past security. They are very strict about the size and the one bag limit.

Thank you Kate. I was able to contact Ryanair in Ireland and she told me I would have to get a smaller bag. Ryanair's dimensions are even smaller than BA's dimensions. 55x40x20, which is only 7.8" in depth. I found a bag that was 7.8" in depth but was 23" high, which as you know is not allowed. So, I'm back to aquare one trying to fing a bag that fits ALL the dimensions. Wish me luck and thank you everyone for your responses.
