Someone a long time ago wrote about a 4 pound carry on luggage. Anyone know what it's called or where I could find it? Thanks
If anyone's interested in a light-weight bag with wheels, check out the Landor & Hawa Sub-0-G bags. The 20.5 inch bag weights 4.8 lbs. I carried the 19 inch bag (which is no longer made) on a 2 week trip last fall. The bag is wonderful - easy to pack with no useless pockets. I used cubes to organize since I was on a tour. It's also very easy to pull. I walked a mile or so in Amsterdam up & down curbs & the little bridges & never felt hampered. I really love this bag.
Did you mean this one with wheels?
Medium Foldaway Wheeled Cabin Holdall
The 19" Sub-0-G bag is still made but not exported to the U.S. I found a company in Canada that can get them and will ship to the U.S.
Luggage Plus
It's s special order item. The cost is $77 CDN plus about $15 shipping.
The Outdoor Products Essential Carryon that I've read about a lot in the Helpline weighs 1 lb, 12 oz. And Rick Steves Classic Back Door Bag is 2 lbs ... and more than twice the price.
I've used both of those bags. The Rick Steves bag is very well made, heavy nylon, but I got tired of carrying 3/4 # of "well made" around. The OPEC bag has served me well for three trips.
Over the years I've pared down my packing list to the point that the OPEC bag was under-filled. After my last trip, I got a ETBD Appenzell bag (1¼ #). It fits everything I brought back in the OPEC bag from the last trip.
Thanks - I'll see if I can find that on line
Thanks - the one I remember someone saying was so wonderful was the Landor & Hawa Sub-0-6. I'm going to try to find that one :)
