Hello friends:
After two years of planning this dream is about to become a reality. We are flying out tomorrow evening on the 9:45 pm MSP - AMS direct flight. We will spend two nights in Amsterdam- have timed tickets to the Anne Frank Huis, will also see The Van Gogh Museum, The Dutch Resistance Museum and the Rijksmuseum - yes, I know it's a lot, we will do the best we can. We then take the train to Bayeux through Paris and will tour the Normandy Beaches and view the Tapestry. We will be staying at Hotel d'Argouges. Then back to Paris to meet our Rick Steves My Way Europe in 14 Days beginning 9/21. I would just like to thank all of you seasoned travelers who have helped me plan this trip, i.e. answered my questions regarding train tickets, hotels, local customs, money and packing light. You have helped me more than you know, and say, by the way, the other ladies and I on here have had some good laughs regarding packing light. It is my hope that someday soon I too will be a seasoned traveler, so I can pass on all the knowledge I've learned from my new friends here. Sleepless night ahead, then wheels up! Best, Liz
Bon voyage! Let us know what back doors you discover!
Have a great time Liz!
Sorry to say the weather has been a bit rotten the past few days, I hope it lets up for you. But if not, keep your rain jacket on and your feet dry in good shoes and you can still keep exploring!!
I love the planning and help I get from the forum...we are leaving a week from Sat (12 days to go) and going back to France and excitement is starting to kick in big time! Hope you have a blast - Europe travel (any travel really) is addicting!
