I will be traveling to Spain and then on to Italy in November 2008. I am wondering it there is a specific "brand" of jeans that are the latest fashion..or should I just wait and purchase them in Europe. I figure they might be less expensive here in the US.

Your last sentence fit with the impression I have that many retail items are less expensive here than there (the EU 17% VAT is one reason)--if it's an item you can get here and price is a consideration, then you'll probably save money buying it here. But if buying it in Spain is the main consideration, then, obviously, buy it there but expect to pay more than for a similar item here. I'm sure there are many exceptions to what I'm saying.

Jackie, I noticed that there's no real "brand" that is the latest. Sure you get the popular brand like you see here in the US, but a lot of the places when I was in Madrid and Barcelona were not big name designers.
I say wear what looks good on you, regardless of the "Brand". Seriously, no one is going to check out your label, and if they are looking at your bum, its not to see the brand of clothing!
Price wise, clothing was about the same or more than the US.
