My daughter and I are going to Italy and France late December. Need ideas on what to pack. I have a pea coat or a Northface water proof, boots, sweaters, can I still go with the Rick Steves packing list in the Winter?

It's more challenging to pack light in the winter, because you need warmer clothing that's appropriate for the climate of most of Europe in the winter, and this clothing is more bulky and takes up more room in your bag. You just do the best you can, if it doesn't fit into your carry-on, oh well, it's not an admission of defeat if you actually have to check a bag.
