Last minute ideas 1 week in Sept

I have Sept 11 - 20 off and want to do a spontaneous trip. Last year was my 3 week adventure to London Paris Florence CT and Pisa. I spent another week in London this March. This trip I'm needing ideas which will also be saved for future trips ;)
I'm needing a more low key, relaxing trip. More people watching, cafes, less pounding the pavement. Paris would be a great choice. In the future I would like to visit Ireland, Scotland, southern Italy, Germany.... Any of these sound good for my dates with little planning just enjoying? Thx :)

But I thought it was extraordinarily dificult to find rooms in Munich during Oktoberfest, much less affordable rooms??

Any of your 4 countries would be suitable for September, as the schools will have returned, so places will be quieter, but you should still get reasonable weather. Weather is riskier in Scotland and Ireland.

Lisbon in Portugal is a great mix of history, pavement cafes with very friendly people and some fantastic countryside nearby. A week is an ideal length of stay.

Berlin is also great for a week, with plenty of modern history.

Split your time between Vienna and Budapest, or if you don't want to do any moving around pick one. Either of these can be as fast paced or low key and relaxing as you like, with plenty to see and do for a week.

@David - Munich during Oktoberfest low key and relaxing? Yikes.

You said "Paris would be a great choice," so why not choose it? With a little more than a week you could see what you missed on your much faster trip last year, take a day trip or two outside the city, and spend relaxed time strolling and people-watching in a city famous for those pursuits.

But September is a very busy month in Paris and you may have trouble getting a room this late. Good luck!

We spent 5 days in Copenhagen a couple of years ago and had a great time. With the amount of time that you have, you could add some side trips.

Thx all. Still thinking of options. The good thing is that whatever sounds good I can do another time :)

I made the note re Oktoberfest dates as something to be aware of, in case of wanting to avoid (or participate in).

Berlin and Prague would be good over 9 nights as well.
