We are planning a trip to Spain in late September 2010 and today it was announced there would be a labor strike in September. Does anyone know how long such a strike might last or where one could go to find such information?

No -- Strikes are strange creatures in Europe. The fact that it has been announced this far in advance probably means it will not happen. Or it could happen a week later. Strikes tend to be quick - one day, one afternoon. Enough to cause a little disruption but not a shut down. Over the years we have been through a number of strikes that caused little problems. A couple of years ago we were in Spain when the trains went on strike so we use the bus. Actually learned from that that Spanish buses are often better than the trains.
