Hi everyone, I was wondering what' is the best way to get to Budapest from Krakow for an overnight trip and where should I buy a ticket?
You can go by overnight train. For tickets try this website: http://www.polrail.com
If you want to go by bus during a day - it takes less time and it is scenic ride through Slovakia; check this website:

From Krakow to Budapest is about 240 miles, and it's a 6 hour trip by automobile or bus. On a train, it's more like a 12 hour ride. There are no flights between these two cities, either.
If you're just making a one day excursion, it would be a little too hard of a journey.
Look into Polski Bus if you want to travel very inexpensively. It's best to buy tickets online, the sooner the better since the cheapest seats go first.
The best? Private plane. Otherwise if it were me I would Google "Krakow to Budapest Transfer" and pick a car company. Maybe $400. Might also call this guy and get a quote. http://www.silverwings.hu/ Best in the business in the region.
When I was planning last year, there were 3 bus lines, the prices were very cheap ($10?) and there was a night bus. The trip is 7-7.5 hours, which would include at least one pit stop. It depends on how well you sleep. I was going to take a day-time bus. The drive through Slovakia is said to be very scenic.
P.S. Didn't work out to go this year, looks good for 2017 though.
