Kevlar Purses

Can anyone suggest a website where I can find a Kevlar purse to use on my travels through Europe?

I'm not sure such a product is even available. Why would you need a Kevlar purse for travels in Europe????

Travelon bags have several built in security features such as slash proof wire mesh and locking zippers. Is this more like what you meant?

Ebags is a good website for these and other travel purses.

Trying to figure out why someone would even think they needed a bullet proof purse in Europe? Talk about over-kill. You don't need slash-proof purses either.
Wear a decent looking messenger bag or satchel cross body, perhaps keep your money in a money belt. Don't wear a back pack.

PacSafe makes bags with locking zippers as well (we have one).

Kevlar (not bullet-proof strength) is used for some racing-boat boats sails, and I've seen bags which are constructed of recycled sailcloth. The selling point is the durability of the fabric, weight-to-strength ratio and some other benefits but I don't think it's a must-have by any means.

You can easily find outlets which sell items made from this fabric by googling around the net.

Are you looking for just a heavy duty nylon type purse (like the ones Baggalini makes), or one that touts itself as having special locks and security mesh sewn inside the strap and body of the purse (like a Pacsafe)?

The security purses are not lightweight by any means, and are frankly overkill. I have traveled plenty in some cities that are supposed magnets for pickpockets and just carried a standard cross-body purse that's large enough to hold a bottle of water, guide book/map, umbrella, phone and wallet (leather with a wide leather strap, a main compartment that zipped and a flap that covered over the zipper). Never had any problems with that. I only carry a day's worth of cash and a single credit card when I am out sightseeing.

Back at home I have a nylon messenger bag from Old Navy that I use to tote my laptop back and forth from the office. I've used that on occasion in more cooler climates when I have wanted something that would hold all of the above plus stuff a light jacket or fleece.

You can have all sorts of security straps and liners built into your purse, but if you are careless with your purse, you can still end up losing it despite having all the "extras". Don't leave your purse on a bench, empty chair, table top or slung over the back of your chair or on the floor between your feet. Make sure the zippers are actually closed and the purse is slung towards the front of your body so you can keep a better eye on it - particularly in crowded areas. Don't just dangle it over your shoulder when walking close to the street where bikes or cars can come up behind you.

Kevlar is incredibly heavy (I know this as I have a significant other in law enforcement) and I can't imagine lugging around a purse made out of it. But hey, if there is a market for this, maybe I can recycle his old bullet-proof vests and turn them into evening bags or daypacks!

I prefer bracelets to deflect bullets. I don't think Wonder Woman even carries a purse.

It would be nice if the OP could clarify the reasons for wanting a Kevlar purse.
