Keukenhof Ticket With Roundtrip Shuttle Bus from Amsterdam

Hello,

We will be in Amsterdam on April 8. Thinking to do Keukenhof tour. Is it a good choice to get
Keukenhof Ticket With Roundtrip Shuttle Bus from Amsterdam from viator? Look like the meeting point (This is Holland) is very close to our hotel. I look on Keukenhof website; there is combi ticket (Bus + entrance tix), which is not available until mid-Fed. But the meeting point is at Amsterdam Rai, a little far from us!

What is your suggestion?

Thanks

Speaking as a native of a big city (NY) I see that This Is Holland is a river and the entire downtown of Amsterdam away from a destination that is south from Amsterdam. I would prefer to take a tram to RAI and avoid miserable traffic in Amsterdam. Opinion.

I would observe that Amsterdam is a big city, and you will be taking at least 3 trams a day. Are you nervous about public transportation, maybe?

It is unclear if the word “tour” actually means only “transportation and admission”. However, a guide is unnecessary for Keukenhof from Amsterdam. This is a major attraction, and in the worst imaginable case, you could pay a modest extra amount for another company’s (or the transit agency’s) bus back to Amsterdam.

We were there a few years ago. We bought our tickets for the round trip bus from Amsterdam and entrance to the gardens through the Keukenhof website. No need to pay the Viator fee. Hopefully it’s still the same process.

First of all, I highly recommend Keukenhof Garden if you have the time. My wife and I were there in 2024. We bought the combi ticket and took the train from Amsterdam to Haarlem and caught the Keukenhof bus from there. The travel time is about the same as going straight from Amsterdam. The advantage is that the congested part of the journey is on a train rather than a bus. The bus ride from Haarlem was all beautiful countryside. On the way back we walked around Haarlem (a destination unto itself) and had dinner before returning to Amsterdam.

However you get there, go as early as possible. We were there by 10:00 a.m. and it was busy. By noon it was packed. Strangely, the crowds didn't detract from the beauty of the place.
