Just for you! En-suite airplane bathrooms

No more disgusting bathrooms with the unwashed masses in steerage.

Emirates is looking at introducing a private bathroom for its most elite passengers. While the Emirati carrier already offers the option of two showers on its Airbus A380 aircraft, the airline wants to take it one step further by looking at dedicated en-suites for every first-class passenger.

Emirates President, Sir Tim Clark, has teased that the airline is already looking into the idea of fully private bathrooms for its first class suites, with the president speaking at CAPA Airline Leader Summit in Berlin, boasting that it would be the only airline to offer such an exclusive offering.

Wow, more and more amenities being offered - for a price. I guess if it’s a private commode, a returning passenger wouldn’t be surprised to find the seat up, if they’d left it that way.

So, when will Turkish Airlines offer a Hammam, complete with soaking pools in three different temperatures, along with a soapy scrub? Coming soon: Pedicures from anybody? Haircuts? A tailor that makes your outfit enroute, so someone can board in their pajamas and deplane wearing high fashion?

Meh. It’s a niche product for a tiny fraction of travelers. It might as well be happening on a different planet.
Most airlines are trying to squeeze in a few more seats and it's just a marketing halo.

Cyn, save up your money. Next will be a kitchen and full bath.

BigMike, what would they call that? Maybe Air BnB? :-)

Actually, the airlines are adding more premium economy seats. They can use less than 50% more space for each premium economy seat and charge double the price of a regular economy ticket.

Mike, only if you don't mind if it's a tad bit breezy. Keeps the mosquitoes away.

On another note the answer to many questions is to just follow the money.

Ummm yeah, like in the case of United on its 777s they put in 24 Premium Plus seats, and then took economy seats from 9 across to 10 across. Like I said squeezing in more seats.
