Just a huge thanks!

To the hundreds (or more) of regular contributors on this site, THANK YOU! Even though I didn't post a lot of questions, I had so many answered by searching through the older posts. The information you folks are providing is pure gold! I have finished my itenerary finally and here it is for you all to see, it is similar to the original I posted in Feb but now I have it down logistically, with all trains, tickets purchased where possible, etc... and complete. Day 1 - Arrive in Frankfurt - Zeil shopping, adjust to time diff, dinner in Sachsenhausen, Luminale show after dark. Day 2 - Rhine cruise Day 3 - Visit with Friends in Heidelberg Day 4 - All day Train to Venice Day 5 - Venice - St. Marks - Correr Museum - St Marks Basilica Day 6 - Rialto Market - Campanile Tower - Academia Tour Day 7- Venice - Murano / Burano Day 8 - Travel to Rome via Florence (Uffizi / Accademia) Day 9 - Rome - Colosseum, Forum, Trajan's Column, Capitol Hill, Pantheon Day 10 - Vatican Tours Day 11 - Borghese Gallery, National Museum, Baths of Diocletian Day 12 - Rest, shopping Day 13 - Fly to London, Watch Les Miserable Play Day 14 - Walk around the city - Hit the highlights Day 15 - Abbey Road - Handle House - Jack the Ripper Tour - Shopping Day 16 - Day trip to Paris just to REALLY over do it.
Day 17 - Depart for home Much thanks again!

Do you only have 1/2 day to see both the Uffizi / Accademia in Florence?

We are in Florence for a total of 8 hours. Train from Venice to Florence 8:57am-11am Check bags at station grab lunch, find Uffizi: 11am-1pm Uffizi: 1pm - 3pm Academia: 3pm -5:30 or 6pm
Grab a quick dinner head back to train station for 7:08 pm train to Rome Easy as that... :-)

It's been a while, but based on what I recall, you won't need that much time for the Accademia (I think you had 2.5 to 3 hours planned). An hour would probably be sufficient. Maybe you can have an afternoon sit down (coffee, wine, a little snack) before getting back on the train so that you can see another part of Florence. Maybe explore Ponte Vecchio or other parts of Florence. Also, given your short time frame, do buy your tickets in advance so you don't have to wait around buying tickets. Have fun!
