I am currently in Italy and my Traveler's Visa is almost up. What are the closest and cheapest contries I can go to, to stay over night, and restart the period of my Traveler's Visa in Europe. Please post up any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
I assume you mean your 90 day Schengen visa. You can go to Switzerland, or to one of the former Yugoslav states like Croatia. But you won't be able to just stay overnight. Schengen area rules state you can only spend 90 days within a 180 day period....so you'll have to stay out 90 days before you can come back in.
Norm is correct --- 90 in, 90 out. No other option.
Call the US Embassy in Italy and ask them what your options are at this point. As noted, you would have to spend 90 days in Switerland before you could re-enter....
The only problem with a long-stay visa is that they usually require you to apply for it from your home country...before you leave....not after you arrive.
