AA changed the 2nd leg of my flight home from Europe. Instead of changing planes at JFK they have us coming into JFK and out of Newark.
What is the best and most cost effective way to do that?

http://tinyurl.com/2tfhfk, gives you all of your options. But I would call AA and ask if they can put you on a flight from where ever you are departing from in Europe into Newark. British Airways, which is a partner, has a lot of flights that go to Newark.

Thanks Michael, we'll give them a call.
I looked at AA's website and there is a flight out of JFK to DFW that afternoon. I don't know why they made us switch to a different airport.

Please call them. Avoid changing airports in NY if at all possible. It will take you AT LEAST an hour to do so and probably more.

I would up that estimate of 1-4 hours to change from JFK to Newark. Call AA and make sure they have this all figured out, you should not have to pay for transportation yourself.

Thanks everyone, because of your suggestions, we called and after being on hold for quite a while, were given the one flight left out of JFK for that afternoon.
Without your help, I would just have assumed it was an easy thing to do since they were making us do it. I can't believe they can expect you to go through all that, especially after that long flight from overseas.
