Itinerary Prague, Vienna and Budapest

Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to Prague, Vienna and Budapest with a friend. We only have 7 days, excluding travel, so we are trying to maximize the best way to spend our time in each city. I know its not enough time to fully experience all of these places, but its all the time I can take off. We are both on exchange and our program won't let us be go for longer. We're planning on starting in Prague, and staying for three days, then going to Vienna for two and Budapest for another three (although if you have another suggestion that would be helpful). Because it's such a short time, we plan on cramming as much into the day as we can, but if anyone has a basic itinerary of must see items, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, because we are students, the cheaper the suggestions the better :)

You probably could not do better itinerary with just 7 days. Must see items are individual. I think you will find really good suggestions in Rick Steves guidebooks. You can buy guidebook for each of your cities. It is worth it.

not really sure what 7 days means. Does it mean this?
0 Depart US
1 arrive Prague (half day jet lagged)
2 in Prague
3 in Prague
4 early train to Vienna
5 late train to Budapest
6 Budapest
7 Budapest
0 Depart Budapest

If so, skip Vienna. Its expensive and the beer is bad. And I would take a flight on Czech Air from Prague to Bpest. Its about $100 but it will save a lot of time and you haven't got much time to loose.
