A number of years ago, Magellan's sold a luggage tag that stated on the outside (in six or eight languages) "Here Is My Itinerary" or something like that. Apparently they are no longer avaiable from Magellan's. Have done several google searches but have not located another source for them. Does anyone know where they may be available?
I used to make my own itinerary luggage tags--paper that folded down to fit in the usual luggage tag space.
I no longer bother in these connected times, cell number & email is really all that is needed.
I too couldn’t find the old Magellan’s style in multiple languages even on EBay. It seems like you could just write on the paper insert on a luggage tag like , an additional line to let a lost luggage service know your little hand written itinerary list is included in the tag. The old Magellan tag had the travelers hand written list slipped behind their ID information.
EDIT: Magellan’s out of production tags. https://www.magellans.com/itemdy00.aspx?T1=MLA316
I have used these luggage tags with my hotel itinerary for years. I just got back from France and it is in such sad shape I was thinking I need a new one. Sorry to hear they are no longer available, but I like the idea of just putting a hotel list behind my name tag in my regular luggage tags.
I would rather rely on an Apple Air Tag device, which I use to keep track of my checked luggage. And quite frankly, I wouldn't want to have my itinerary on the outside of my bag, even if it's tucked away in a luggage tag.
However, one thing you could do is create a list with your itinerary on it, and place it inside your checked bag, in addition to the outer luggage tag that has your name and contact info. That way it is only accessible to authorized personnel.
I do what Mardee is suggesting with an itinerary of hotels on the inside of my bag. I've tried not to check it but in August had to as the Loganair planes to Orkney and Shetland were small prop planes so no real choice on carrying on.
I put my itinerary in a plastic sheet saver and clip it to the net covering on the top part of my luggage.
I guess I could also write on the luggage tag to "see inside". BTW, I don't lock my bag, just use twist ties to make sure it doesn't come unzipped. Nothing valuable in there.
Why would you want just anyone to know what your full itinerary is? We had our bag switched with someone with a very similar bag. Name and cell number on bag tag was sufficient to right the wrong.

The itinerary is inside the tag so it is not visable to just anyone. And it includes cell numbers and emails. The idea behind the tags is that In the event of misplaced luggage, the airline will be able to forward it even if they can't contact the owner by phone. Or the airline can at least contact the hotel(s). The tags saved the day for some friends several years ago when their cell phones experienced problems.
If I can't find them, I'll just come up with a work around. Pam's idea of a clear sheet protector has some merit. T
Thanks to all who tried to find them. Much appreciated.
When we experienced switched bags in Milan, we had to take the train from Varenna back to the airport the next day to show our passports in order to reclaim our bag. The airline had not lost our bag, it had been picked up by someone else and we had theirs therefore each of us had to prove the bags were ours. After experiencing this and all the questions we had to answer, I seriously doubt an airline is going to forward a bag anywhere without talking to the person first. Name and cell number on the bag is essential, full itinerary, I truly question.
Add your email address, also, to your name & cell phone number on the outside of your bag.
The mesh zipper folder inside my backpack has my full itinerary, but I move locations often, so I would want to be contacted, first, if I was forced to check my bag.
All I have on the outside of a checked bag is my name…initials only, then surname…and my email address.
Inside, I have my full itinerary in a plastic sleeve in the mesh/net section so it is seen as soon as the case is opened.
Also on it are my emergency contacts at home.
No need to put it all on the outside of a bag!
I use tightly snugged-up zip ties to “lock” my case, not padlocks.
Never had one opened.

To be honest, I doubt the airline would do that without contacting you. The four times my luggage was lost for one day, it was delivered to the address on my missing luggage form and they either called me or the hotel about the delivery. One time when my luggage was lost for 5 days, they called me to see where it should be delivered.
I don’t think it hurts to include your itinerary; I am just doubtful that it will unite you with your luggage more quickly.
Thanks for all the alternate ideas. If someone should stumble upon a place to obtains the tags, please let me know. I'd appreciate it.
At the suggestion of someone on this forum (I think?), I created a QR code that links to a stand alone page on my personal blog that lists current contact information (phone, email) and the names of hotels on my itinerary. I update the page for each trip and delete the details when I return. I printed the QR code on a luggage tag with my name and attached it to my suitcase with a holder that isn't super easy to open (so any passerby can't scan it). I also put a copy inside my suitcase.
I ordered some luggage tags on Esty that we could personalize. Maybe try there.
Thanks, Donna. Will check there.
