I have a complicated itinerary that includes flying to Italy, and then driving to Croatia, and through Slovenia, Austria, Germany, and flying back from Denmark. I have 10 different meds for my heart, asthma, etc. I plan to take them in their origianl containers (as Rick Steves suggested), and i was going to carry a letter from my dr. with the name of each mediciine and why i take it. When i went to France 3 years ago, no one searched or asked anything. Has anyone ever had any problems with their meds crossing any of these borders?
We traveled by air to Munich, then car and train to Austria, other parts of Germany and Italy. Then we flew from Rome to Munich and back home. I carry many medications, including injectable, and I was never stopped or asked any questions. I was surprised, however, when my husband was stopped because he accidentally put a water bottle in his carry-on and I went through just fine with 12 needles!
No need to worry, you'll be fine. Have fun!
I carry packs of needles and meds too, and have never had anyone say a thing. This includes flying to the states and back a couple of times and to Italy twice. You should be fine. It is nice to have the prescription info though in case something should happen and the drs. in those countries would need to look them up online or find replacements in their country.
