From the US? You’re a US citizen? Then nothing, just a passport. ETIAS does not go into effect until 4th quarter of 2026.
London? You will need an UK ETA .
I have mine . I will be flying from Stockholm to London in July. London back to US.
As noted, if you hold an American passport, that is all that is required to enter the countries mentioned. If you want to rent a car, each driver needs an International Driver's Permit. If you are only transiting the London airport on a single ticket, nothing extra is needed. However if you are visiting London, or otherwise needing to go through UK Passport Control at the airport ( fior example travelling on separate tickets and needing to check luggage on the connecting flight) then an ETA is needed.
If you want to transport any legal drugs / medicine when entering Schengen zone, ensure that you will have your doctor's prescriptions with you. For details check customs regulations of first destination's country.

I had understood that simply transiting through the UK (i.e., changing planes) did not trigger the ETA obligation. Has that changed?
