My brother is traveling in Germany and has discovered another way Americans are spotted other that by the shoes they're wearing. It's the Rick Steves Guide under their arm.

And by the zip off pants. Also for a while I was seeing a lot of tourists who were dressing just like Rick does in his TV shows. That always makes me laugh.

When I'm surrounded by a bunch of people with Rick Steves guides, I know it's time to quickly walk several blocks in any direction.
