Is this any way to treat a self sacrificing hero?

From the BBC:=

Spencer Stone, hailed as a hero after a French train terror attack,
has been stabbed in Sacramento, California. He was attacked while
defending a friend, and is currently in a stable condition at a local
hospital, an Air Force official told the BBC. Police say the stabbing
took place on a Sacramento street corner in the early hours after an
argument escalated. Sacramento Police Officer Traci Trapani says no
arrests have been made and they do not yet have a description.

That's awful Nigel! Standing up for others seems to be a theme in his life.

I saw the story on the news this morning, and it seems to be an unfortunate altercation at a bar and not related to the Paris incident. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.

There's another aspect to the story though. Reportedly one of the other Paris train hero's, Alek Skarlatos, was to have attended the University in Oregon on the day of the recent shootings. Fortunately he was in Los Angeles that day for a rehearsal of Dancing With The Stars.

My sister-in-law mentioned this this morning. So awful!

Unbelievable.

A small correction? The shootings took place at Umpqua Community College - where Mr. Skarlatos was previously enrolled - and not University of Oregon.

I know our Canadians friends may not be as familiar with the US as we are equally unfamiliar about Canada. The campus shooting was at Umpqaua Community College in Oregon and not at the Univ of Oregon.

Sorry, my terminology was not accurate. My reference to " the University in Oregon" was not entirely correct. I was aware that the shootings took place at Umpqua Community College, but I tend to think of colleges and universities as the same thing (ie: a post-secondary place of higher learning). I'll try to be more specific in future.
