Is there a web site that tracks airfare from the past?

I'm looking to purchase a RT ticket Sacramento to Calgary, but I can't tell what a good price is. I can't look out a couple months because we won't be leaving until summer when the prices may be higher. It would help to see what they went for this last summer to get an idea if I should buy now or wait.

Thanks!

Since past fares are not indicative of future fares u might try fare compare or kayak websites.

To answer your question, I don't know of any websites that track past airfares.

I agree with the previous reply. Past fares won't be relevant as there are variables that will change the fares this year, such as fuel prices, capacity, etc. I'd suggest watching the fares for a month or so after the new year to get some idea what the range is between highest and lowest.

Just curious, which airline options are you looking at for the Sacramento - Calgary route? It doesn't look like there are any direct flights. Is flying from SFO an option?

Most likely we would fly Delta- looks like connections in Salt Lake City. The flight for us would be pretty fast, about 3 1/2 hours total fly time and a 1 hour or so layover. It wouldn't be worth the a 2 1/2 hour drive to SFO and back.

I can see on google flights that the fare can be as low as $320 and the flight I want on specific days is currently $375. We will be going next summer, high season, so I'm not sure that it will likely go down, yet we are so far out it seems silly to buy now.

So I was just curious what normal was for this last year. Maybe google flights are the best since I can see the price for everyday for every month for the future, although they do change.

Thanks!
