Is postage now universal in Europe?

We like to mail a post card a day to our home address - a fun way of documenting our trip. If we buy a "book" of post card stanps in Germany will we be able to affix the same stamps to cards mailed from France and Italy?

No. Each country still maintains a separate postal system.
