Ireland or Denmark?

My husband and I are thinking about planning a trip with our 12 year old and 15 year old this summer. Flights to both Ireland and Denmark are both reasonable right now. Any advice on which country would be best for my family to visit? We like a mix of remote/nature activities as well as touristy/city activities. Thanks!

Both countries are great to visit and there is lots to see in both.

Ireland has the edge when it comes to natural beauty and wonders, while Denmark is a smaller country and you can take in quite a bit of it without renting a car and driving on the left.

We visited Copenhagen in 2014 and stayed there, but did a great long day trip that took in the Viking Museum, including remnants of viking ships, etc. Also, you could see replica viking ships. Then our tour took us through the countryside and we visited a couple of castles and towns. You can spend four days in Copenhagen easily.

To see much of the country, you would need to rent a car or join a bus tour of some kind. We visited Belfast in N. Ireland twice, once in 2013, then again in 2014. We visited Cork and Dublin in 2013 and Dublin again in 2014, while on cruises.

We did not have time to see the Ring of Kerry or go to the Western part of the Island, which we plan to do some day. The Giant's Causeway is north of Belfast, don't miss that. If interested, the Titanic Museum is in Belfast. Dublin is a great city and Trinity College is a must see. From Cork, you can go to Blarney Castle and the port of Kinsale.
