I did a search on this and found a thread but no conclusive results.
Has anyone used the wi-fi feature in europe? With what results?

It will work perfectly fine if the hotspot you are trying to access is either open or you have the passcode needed to use it.
Wifi is wifi, all around the world.
Thanks Jon, that's what I needed to know.
Ayla, I haven't used my I-Pod Touch in Europe yet, but I've tried it at home here to some extent. I was somewhat surprised that it's reasonably easy to navigate, even with the smaller screen (however, expanding and scrolling could become very tiring after awhile). Typing on the small keyboard is a bit difficult for me, as I have large fingers.
In my experience (so far), the only "free" Wi-Fi spots I've found in Europe (England) have been in Hotels and B&B's. Most of the public sites in Europe seem to require a fee. The most recent location I tried was the Starbucks in Munich station a few weeks ago, and it was only available for a fee. There was a young couple sitting beside me using one of the new Asus EEE computers to surf the net, and this was the first time I'd ever seen one!
Cheers!
