I looked at it before our trip this summer. For us, it was much more expensive than ATT's data roaming plans. With all the wifi and internet cafes in Europe, most people don't need unlimited data access. Even for someplace without any internet access, one of the higher MB data roaming plans from ATT should suffice, but I suppose there could be cases where this could be beneficial.

seems kind of expensive... maybe if you are going on business it might be worth it (but then, wouldn't your company provide you with a phone, etc). but for vacation? i spent two weeks in spain and bought a pack of data for like $20-30 that was more than enough. as for minutes, i'd be very surprised if you are going to need to call any one that badly. if you do, just pay the $1.50 or so a minute. in an emergency, that should be the last of your worries. i've never used this company, btw.

I can validate this is an awesome service. A friend turned me on to it & while I was in Europe this past summer, I wanted to go to the highest mountain and yell out how much I loved it so everyone would hear. Instead I just would be constantly on it looking at my iPhone while other people were puling out their maps. Looking at my iPhone while other people were looking in their green book for points of interests or places to eat. Yes, I actually did look at the historical sites as well & my family loved how efficient we were. You essentially have free wireless wherever you have 3G coverage; the coverage for 3G in Europe was better than in the USA! Once you realize that 3G gives you access to Skype (something that is not allowed if you are using your personal AT&T GSM chip) which means now you essentially have free calling (ok, 2 cents a minute to most places). The service really was seamless! I used the one where they just mailed you a chip for your iPhone, but they also will rent you the iPhone if you don't have one. Loved it! www.iPhoneTrip.com
