I am planning on bringing my Ipad on a trip to Munich, Vienna and Prague. I am concerned with the electrical situation. My daughter was in Spain this past summer and her hair straightener was fried. I do not want to damage my Ipad. I always get confused as to when you need just the adaptor and or when you need the coverter as well.
Ipads are designed for world operation. All you need is a plug adapter. You only need a converter for electrical devices designed for 110v.
I have taken my ipad everywhere and all you need is a European plug adaptor for your trip. it won't fry.
Thank you!!!
To satisfy yourself that this advice is correct - and it is - look at the power cable or power block. What you want to see is "100-240 V 50/60 Hz". That signals that it will work with the current and voltage used in the U.S. as well as that used in Europe. We use voltage closer to 100 (120, I think) and Europe uses 240. High wattage appliances, such as hair dryers, etc. are more tricky. You really need one designed for world use. Low wattage things like most electronics don't pose the same problem.
