I am leaving Sunday to travel to Spain. I intend to bring my IPad 2 along to stay in contact with home, as well as to read. Is the IPad 2 a dual voltage device? With my IPod (as well as my camera, electric toothbrush, etc ...) I can simply attach a European power connector to my US style plug and insert it in the recepticle to charge the device. Is it the same with an IPad?
Thanks for your input Andea, that is what I thought. Then, yesterday evening, I got thinking about it and called Apple. It was as if I was speaking a foreign language. It took almost ten minutes of conversation to get their rep to even understand what I was talking about. He then gave me a half hearted "I think you can do that" answer. Not very reassuring.
The reason he may have hedged on you is it is your responsible to read the input voltage required on the charge. If it is Apple issue it mostly will work with 120-240V. My son lost his charger and order a cheap one from Amazon that would only take 120 which is why it was cheap. So read input required so that you can absolutely answer your own question.
Frank - You are correct. I broke out my trusty stamp collecting magnifying glass, and indeed it does say 110 - 240 volts. This was in no way readable (white print on ivory plug) with my naked eye! Thanks!!!
I am in France right now, using my iPad 2. I started my trip in Spain. All I need is my adaptor to put on the plug to charge the iPad. The same with the battery charger for my camera,
