Hi. I want to use Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket to travel along Germany. I want also to carry bicycles.
My way is from Zgorzelec to Basel (link1). There is nice route shown on link below but in one train it's not written that I can carry bicycle. It's InterregioExpress (link2). Does it mean that I musn't carry bicycle with that train or maybe I can carry but there are no special racks for bicycles inside train? Please help me how can I interpret that. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/traininfo.exe/en/279240/226086/777762/295801/80?ld=9647&seqnr=4&ident=fw.01160847.1307439488&date=02.07.11&station_evaId=8010085&station_type=dep¤tReferrer=tp&rt=1& http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query2.exe/en?ld=9647&seqnr=4&ident=fw.01160847.1307439488&rt=1&performGis=1&REQMap4ConnectionId=C1-1&guiVCtrl_connection_directions_onlyElement_C1-1&REQMap4Width=500&REQMap4Height=500&REQMap4ConnectionSection=COMPLETE&SetGlobalOptionGO_showConn=C1-1&moreDetail=1&
Mateusz, it means you must not carry a bicycle on that train. It's simply not possible. You wouldn't be able to get it through the narrow doors and even if there would be absolutely no space to put it.
The faster regional and express trains rarely have space for bicycles, but the slower, milk run RB (regional bahn) often do. There is a check box on the German Rail website that says, "carriage of bicycles required". That will show you that route with trains that allow bicycles. You might have to click "Change other data" to get the full display of options. Leaving Dresden at about 11:00, it's an 8 hr connection with 4 changes to Nürnberg. BTW, instead of giving us a long link to a page which might not even exist anymore, give us the departure town (Dresden) and time (1100) and the destination (Nürnberg) and we can find the connection - IRE 3088.
