Looks like a plug for a travel agency. Maybe a little buzz marketing which is illegal on this site. Who knows?

Sounds like this is her first post here. I'll track AirTreks.com.

I'm always a little suspicious when someone writes in answering a question no one ever asked.

The text of this "unsolicited" recommendation is a little too enthusiastic.

Tracey,

It's doubtful that anyone here would have experience with AirTreks or any other firm, as most here prefer to plan their own trips using Rick's guidelines.

I'm assuming that you're contemplating a trip to Europe in the near future? Given your location, you're in a better position than most of us here, as you can stop by ETBD in Edmonds very easily and speak with the European travel experts. Before deciding on AirTreks, you might want to pay them a visit.

Cheers!

I'm just a future traveler looking around for information and wanted to ask some of the experienced.

Tracy,

Could you provide some details on your future travel plans. Perhaps the group here can offer some tips to get you started.

Cheers!

I did a Google search on AirTreks and found this webpage under "AirTreks Scam".

Full disclosure: Yes, I'm an AirTreks employee, but after seeing this thread I wanted to clear up some misconceptions - I'm not here promote our company in any way. Like Ken said, most Rick Steves readers wouldn't be interested in the kind of tickets we sell, so it wouldn't make sense for us to try and "buzz market" here. I can assure you, this is not something we do. And for the record, Tracy is not connected with our company. She was probably simply trying to find out a place to buy a ticket to Europe and had heard of us.

To Steve, we are a small- to mid-sized company located in California (San Francisco) but we don't provide rental cars or hotels. Only airfare, and while yes we do provide a service to our clients, it's purely to help them get a trip that suits them. We don't push people into arrangements they don't need.

Finally to Lee, many businesses do have unsatisfied customers. The person you linked to was one of them. We are in no way a scam - we've been in business for 23 years, are a member of the BBB and have thousands of very satisfied customers. If you like you can Yelp us.

Sorry for the intrusion folks, just wanted to clear the air, so to speak.

Thanks all for your time.

Nico
