Can you use the computers at the cafes to download pictures from your camera to a CD? Or are they simply for internet usage?

Most internet cafes that I have been to have download services. They will download your pictures to a CD (for a fee) while you check your email or whatever. Most have also had international phone service for really cheap rates, too.

Last October, I spent 2 weeks traveling around Bavaria, mostly in small towns. I had a small, lightweight (2.9#) notebook computer with me and it was a a big help. Six of my 13 nights there was wifi access in my hotel. Four of the other nights I managed to find internet computers to use, but the facilities were very primative in at least three - justs one or two stand alone computers in back room of a bar - no CD drive service or USB connections.
