I,m sure I've asked this question before, but when ever I go to the Internet (I'm in Spain) I always seem to get the Spain versions of Yahoo or Google or what ever web site I'm looking at - We are off on a cruise back to the US in a few days and when logging into there web site I get the Spanish version. How do I get to English versions of these web sites. I'm using my iPad here in Spain. JimP
First you have to disable that Safari can use your current location. Then on the Google website click on Settings and switch language back to English. If you're on e.g. Google News on the very bottom of the page you can select the UK/US version (provided Safari doesn't know you're in Spain).
The easiest way to get the english language site is to change the end of the URL to "co.uk" For example:
instead of www.google.com use www.google.co.uk
Same thing happened to me when I was in Spain in May. I downloaded Hot Spot Shield (recommended to me by someone else who was using it) for free, and ran it starting my browser. I could then see my regular English versions of websites.
