International Student Exchange Card

I am planning a trip to Europe over the summer and am a college student. When researching discounts available for students I came across the ISE card at www.isecard.com and it looks great, but it also looks way to good to be true. I was wondering if anybody knew anything about it or any other International student ID card that would be helpful while traveling, Thanks!!

Can't say I've heard of them, but most of the benefits they advertise seem on par with ISIC (ie, they're general student discounts, and the card simply gives you a way to prove you're a student).

Which part did you think was too good to be true?

I am not really sure, i know that students get outrageous discounts, but it just seemed that the discounts they were boasting was to much, 20% off avis car rentals? (not that i even want a car but it is nice to know about), and the 27 euro Eurostar chunnel train, but i am very excited to know that someone else thinks that this is the real deal, thanks :).

Ten years ago, the card was virtually worthless. What few businesses I found that offered a discount would accept any university ID as well. Unless a lot has changed, you do not need one.

In Through the Back Door, Rick recommends the ISIC card. We will be traveling to Europe next spring for the first time and I've ordered one for my daughter. It's good in this country also for things like 15% off Amtrak tickets. Check out the ISIC website.
