InterConnex, a private line owned by Veolia, which has been running trains between Leipzig and Warnemünde, announced that it will discontinue service as of Dec 13, 2014. Ridership has been declining due to competition. Veolia still operates trains between Munich and Salzburg as Meridian and south of Munich as Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB).
