Insurance that covers COVID + stays - AIG travel guard - which policy specifically?

We will be going to Italy in Sept-Oct. We think the "COVID+" insurance is probably a good idea. I looked at the AIG travel guard site, and there seem to be options.

What specific policies have been purchased by folks?

Have negative outcomes (failure to reimburse) been encountered?

I use insuremytrip.com - you can filter in different options including Covid. I look for primary coverage and pre-existing condition waivers - both saved me from having to get reimbursed for a $7k bus class flight home when I broke my ankle - with primary coverage and pre-exuding condition waiver, they paid for my ticket up front. I also didn’t have to provide any medical records or put claims they my primary medical insurance first. They have great insurance agents too that can go through the policies and explain coverage details.

Check IMGlobal Travel LX covers covid @ $250 a day.
Am sure it's not the cheapest but they pay if you have a problem. Been using them since 2005 before Buffet bought them.

🫣Has anyone plugged their info into Forbes advisor(square mouth) that searches travel insurance? I was going to do it, then I thought I should ask around first. I trust you guys more than Square mouth) 😂

Not sure if you are still looking, but used tripinsurance.com and Covid was covered as a part of trip interruption. Still have to submit incidentals for claim, but with the US Fire EZ Gold plan, they purchased my $2k+ ticket home when my original ticket was non-refundable. I wasn't held up in Italy but some travel companions were. I believe Italy currently has the strictest isolation rules in the EU - 7-21 days and in some cases they track those testing positive. You no longer need to test before traveling home, but there is still a chance you could have to isolate.
