Reynisfjara!
Thanks, Nigel!
May the Fourth be with you as well, and to all the travelers out there!
Not quite Star Wars, but in the 1960s the Apollo astronauts came to my home state to practice walking on the "moon". Here's an article that commemorates their visit: https://ktxs.com/news/offbeat/apollo-astronauts-walked-on-oregon-lava-before-setting-foot-on-the-moon
As travel inspo for those who might want to stay stateside this year, Central Oregon is a wonderful place to visit with more than moon rocks on offer - volcanoes! Beer! Rafting! We have several forum members who live there and I'm sure would be happy to assist in your travel planning. :)
CL, we will be camping in Sisters in July for the annual Quilt Show, as well as on the coast in Waldport. We love the Bend area.
May The Fourth Be With You!!
I'm sorry, but 5/4 is actually Dave Brubeck Day.
the fifth of April?
"I'm sorry, but 5/4 is actually Dave Brubeck Day."
I'm sorry, but I celebrate that on 9/8.
edit:
And for those not playing along at home, "5/4" is the time signature of the "most famous Jazz tune", Dave Brubeck's "Take Five". Personally, I prefer the 9/8 time signature of his "Blue Rondo ala Turk".

In the United States, May 4 is informally observed as "Dave Brubeck Day". In the format most commonly used in the U.S., May 4 is written "5/4", recalling the time signature of "Take Five", Brubeck's best-known recording.[55]
Personally, I prefer the 9/8 time signature of his "Blue Rondo ala Turk".
I love that tune also, but my favorite 9/8 Brubeck composition is "It's a Raggy Waltz." Lots of fun.
Matmata, Tunisia. You can stay in Hotel Sidi Idriss. It was the filming location for the original home of Luke and his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru (interior). The Lars Homestead first appeared in 1977 (A New Hope) and again in 2002 (Attack of the Clones) and 2005 (Revenge of the Sith). The set from the 2005 movie was left up (much of it still there from 1977). The breakfast room that Luke sat in with Owen and Beru is there, and they serve blue milk. It's a GREAT place to stay, and the jumping off point for trips into the Sahara. Highly recommend this hotel, and it costs about what your average Hampton Inn does. Seriously. You can stay in an actual Star Wars filming set.
