I'm looking for a decent London hotel in a good "tourist" location for under 115 British pounds. From reading hotel reviews, it appears that many of the cheaper hotels have some undesireable qualities. Any recommendations?
Sue, Not sure if this is central enough. I am going to be staying there later this year and it appears to be a nice place at a good location. http://www.lancaster-hall-hotel.co.uk/ Also, the following maybe something to check out depending on when you are going http://www.lsevacations.co.uk/ Best of luck,
Edwin
You might consider the Jesmond Hotel on Gower Street. Just a few blocks from the British Museum, not far from St. Pancras, bus stop nearby that goes to Westminster Abbey and environs, and more. http://www.jesmondhotel.org.uk/bed-and-breakfast Good luck.
I have stayed here and will again: http://www.alhambrahotel.com/
I highly recommend Priceline. We bid on a four star and got a room for $100 in the Gloucester Rd area. It took five days of bidding but well worth it.
I stayed at Luna Simone, it is definitely in a desirable neighborhood. Felt very safe walking around late at night and the bus stops right in front of the hotel. I paid 100 pounds per night last Oct. I learned about it via this helpline and also checked it on tripadvisor.
The Ibis Hotel Euston. Adjacent to Euston Station, just off Euston Road.
It's been a few years, but here are two I've stayed at and would again as long as tripadvisor still recommended them: Cherry Court Hotel in Victoria, and Blades Hotel in Pimlico.
