Thanks, Karen! It might be worth a hop over to Indy if the intro prices are low.

If you are looking at the early flights you may find a deal. Sometimes there are good options on "new routes"

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but I think the odds of a new route sticking past the first year are about 50-50.

Like with Pittsburgh-Paris, the local government is willing to put up a pretty heavy subsidy to get it established.

We've had Pittsburgh to Paris for years. It goes most days, but not in the off season. Good luck with your new route!

Oh interesting! I wonder if I can use this to talk my parents into doing an RS tour. They're cruise addicts, but I think they'd love seeing and doing more.

Merci Karen. I'm away now so missed the news. Thanks.

The airport also indicated they are looking at trying to get a London flight added.

Our governor doesn't think of it as a subsidy to Delta. He likes the word incentivise instead.

It will be interesting to see what kind of market exists for European flights. Indy can pull out of the whole state, and eastern and southern Illinois, and maybe some of Kentucky. We'll see if that's enough.

Well right now, any international flight to anywhere that's not Mexico usually means a feeder flight to Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte, Toronto, or Atlanta, (based on my itamatrix searches) and there at multiple flights just to Chicago, so maybe the market will support it, but we won't know until the flights start. I'm hoping it is large enough to support it. Heck, we finally got an IKEA, so fingers crossed!

So, did Cincinnati lose its Delta non-stop daily to Paris?

I don't think so. They're promoting it that CDG is a link to the rest of the world, and that world is just dying to get to the Hoosier state. We're really on the world map now!

There's an IKEA now! Where? So life exists beyond the Greenwood Costco and the airport!

FIshers, of course. Right off 69. It opens sometime in October.

That's a stretch from Bton, but maybe they'll have a space for a RS meet up.

In the living room displays with the couches, or the kitchen displays? We'd have to make prior arrangements, because once you are lost in IKEA, you are really lost.

An Indy to London flight would be welcome, too. I hadn't heard that one.

The Delta flights are reported to be daily in the summer and three times a week the rest of the year.

Karen - meet in the cafe! The Ikea cafe is almost like being in an AutoGrille. ;-)

AFAIK, That route remains in place despite the general de-hubbing because of plane parts-it's an important direct cargo flight that supplies aircraft repair and maintenance needs for assorted European operations. That they can make money on passengers from Ohio to Paris is rather a bonus for Delta.
