In Your Pocket Guides

I am having to do a crash course in Poland Travel. Several have suggested the IN YOUR POCKET GUIDES. I'm not sure why I'm so late in finding out about these online guides, but they are quite helpful. I was going to download and print some of them and discovered there is an App. And its free and quite good. The App allows me to pin the sites I'm interested in and it plots everything on a map. Just about every place I'm hoping to go to in Poland has a guide.

I already make good use of digital travel books from my library service, but honestly this app is much easier to use than a digital guidebook. It is much quicker to find what I'm looking for, and the app is more interactive.

There is quite an interesting variety of places with guides--many are central Europe, but there's one for Dublin, Copenhagen and Aruba!

IYP started in eastern Europe--maybe in Lithuania. So far I've only used it for traveling to former Iron Curtain countries, where it often mentioned sights or provided details I hadn't encountered elsewhere. I'll soon be looking at what it has for Italy; I'm curious about whether that information will be equally useful.

@acraven, well, thanks to you I found these guides. I'm quite excited by the App. Infinitely better than looking at digital travel guides. Sorry, to say, that at least on the App, there is nothing for Italy.

Jules, thanks for the info. However, when I looked it up in the Apple App Store, it noted there is a security issue that the developer needs to fix. I’ll wait to download.

@horsewoofie, Are you talking about the "developer's privacy policy"? I've been seeing that with a few apps. I am currently using it with location off. I use maps.me for navigation, so I don't need IYP to provide step by step instruction.

I really IYP guides too. Beside being informative, they are fun to read.
