What's the best European destination in mid-November??
Paris, Paris, Paris
Paris!
London, London, London, London
Paris and London Ha ha
I love St. Tropez in the Fall. I used to work in the area and HATED in the summer with all the celebs and billionaires. Then I had the chance to visit in November and couldn't beleive how peacefull and quaint this fishing village on the sea is. Oh and the restaurants are open, and the locals are actually nice.
London, Inverness, Austria
Italy.
Anywhere I can get an affordable ticket. And with the ease and cheapness of European planes and trains, the arriving airport does not have to be my final destination.
Germany and the Rhine Valley.
I would go South.
Germany is rainy, and Paris chilly in Nov.
Lasy year I was in London and Cotswolds, it was temperate and great for me. Altho I would prob opt for Greece or S Italy Naples and south if it is sun you want. However i bet there ecould be rain at times.
Considering it's going to be mid-November, I would definately take the season and it's weather into consideration. I wouldn't suggest the UK. I find it too grey and cloudy, wet in mid November. Not that I'd ever pass up the UK but if I could trade it for a little more sunshine, I probably would!
Paris, or Tahiti
I always travel to Europe in November because you get better deals on hotels!
If you like warm weather, when I went to Rome in November 2005, it was as warm as my home in Texas!
Shorter lines, warm weather, just wonderful!
If you don't mind cooler weather, last year I went to Salzburg. Again, not as many people, and I loved the cool weather there. Beautiful colorful leaves, and mostly clear skies when I was there last year. Maybe I got lucky! I went up in the mountains and the snow was very deep. It was so beautiful, that I took pictures up there and made Christmas cards from the pictures I took.
In less than two weeks, I'm on my way to Berlin Germany. I was happy to read that a poster here suggested Germany!
Because I'm from Texas, I want cooler weather!!
I vote for either Dubrovnik, Croatia or the Cinque Terre area of Italy.
France, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, The Netherlands, Belguim, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Monte Carlo, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey.
Just to name a few...
I agree with Jarrod, anywhere. First choice? England.
I'd go to Italy. It's nice weather that time of year. Still warm but not hot and sweaty like in the summer. You can get a cheaper hotel sans air conditioning. The crowds are thin. North of the Alps it has become cold, the crowds are gone but it isn't really pleasant touring.
Visit other places in May or Sept/early October. That's the time when the weather is still good, the crowds are thinner and sites are still open.
Italy. It's cooler, cheaper and less crowded. Save the countries up north for the summer when you can tolerate the weather and days are longer. And this is from someone who ADORES London and Paris!
Amsterdam, Amsterdam! The crowds have dissipated (mostly except for the Cannabis Cup). The weather is acceptable. Vondelpark is still walkable. Hotel rates are reasonable. November is a wonderful time to visit and I heartily recommend it. Take a side trip to Maastricht or to Arnheim. You will not be disappointed.
Spent Thanksgiving in Amsterdam & Brugge a few years ago and we had beautiful weather - think we got a bit lucky though!
Southern Italy!
