This month is the 40th anniversary of the release of this very funny film. I just watched it again and it brought back some interesting memories.
If you haven't seen it, I suggest you rent a copy. It was shot on location in Europe so many of you will recognize a lot.
No, tours are not really like that (although some come close) and almost all the types of passengers represented I've come across in my work.
A good laugh for all. Especially the experienced traveler.
Hard to believe. I remember seeing that film when I was in graduate school.
I watched it on TV (twice!) about a month ago. I loved it. It's fun to watch movies like this and European Vacation and try not to be anything like the American tourists in the films.

Thanks for the movie suggestion. My husband and I leave in 14 more days for our trip to France and Belgium. I will go see if I can rent it to watch this weekend. We will only have six nights in belgium so it might feel like the title. (Ghent 2 nights, Brussells 2 nights and Bastogne 2 nights).
Thanks Frank II for posting this! Being a "youngin" I've never heard of this movie but somebody has posted it on YouTube in HD, in 10 parts. I'm on part 3 right now and it's pretty entertaining and frighteningly not too far off from reality LOL
