Does Rick have any advise on Iceland, or will there be anything coming on Iceland soon? If not can someone else offer any help in planning a trip there?
There isn't too much on this forum, as I too have asked. There are some trip reports, but no special section. I think if you do a Search, some forum posts about Iceland will come up. Recommend checking Trip Advisor as well as Fodors as both of those forum have tons of info on Iceland. Questions answered as well as the attractions to visit, tours, hotels, etc.
I hope to go there next year myself as I want to go ride the Icelandic horses. Met some people last month who had did a tour where they descended into a volcano. Said it was the coolest thing they had ever done, but pricey.

There was a movie out last year "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (remake) with Ben Stiller that is partially set in Iceland. Made me interested in seeing it too.
Hi Sue,
It depends on your interest. Do you want to simply see the main sights?
Explore further? Be very active or not so much?
I LOVED Iceland and its people. I went last Summer and hope to go back during the winter.
It is easy to walk almost everywhere in Reykjavik. Please do go up the church to have a magnificient 360degrees view of the whole capital.
I really enjoyed walking around and taking the zodiac tour to: https://www.re.is/day-tours/jokulsarlon-glacial-lagoon
I enjoyed the Blue Lagoon. But it is not a must for me. Depends on your taste. It is wonderful but can get crowded and feel touristy. Try to go early or very late if you do not like to relax with a crowd. If it does not bother you, go anytime ;)
Rick doesn't intend to do an in-depth guide for Iceland; he's leaving that up to Lonely Planet. These are the two articles he posted after his recent visit:

I went to Iceland this past January and absolutely loved it - I'm tempted to return in the summer, but I'm not sure that the summer can compete with the stunning beauty of the landscape in the winter.
Reykjavik as others have said is a very walkable city. Since I was solo, I chose not to rent a car, and made Reykjavik my base from where I took day tours and one overnight tour to Jokulsarlon, which was absolutely fabulous and I highly recommend going there, even if not on a tour but on your own.
