Ice In Europe

We are considering a trip to Europe this September. This would be our 7th European vacation. Since our last trip in 2003 I have developed peripheral neuropathy, which causes my feet to burn. Besides medication one of the most effective ways to relieve the pain and burning is to put my feet in ice water for 15-30 mins. before I go to bed at night. This creates a problem, since I am well aware of the scarcity of ice in Europe. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Is it possible to buy ice anywhere? If so, we could buy a cooler of some sort and get ice every day. We stay mostly in zimmers, so wouldn't have access to ice, as we might possibly in the big hotels (Which we don't like staying in). Please help if you can. I would be devastated to think that I could never again travel to the countries I love so much. We would be mostly in Germany, Austria & Switzerland; maybe also Belgium and the Netherlands. Thanks. Joy

This is an aside. I have the same medical condition. Does putting your feet in ice water really work for you?

I am in constant pain, and the pills only help a little at this stage.

I am making my 12th trip to France in June. I'll just keep going until I can't walk.

Thanks,

Tim

Our Ready-to-Use (never needs refrigeration) Instant Ice is easily activated for emergency use where cold therapy is required. Reaches 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) within seconds after you squeeze the inner bag and release the water into the crystals in the outer bag. The cold lasts from about 20-40 minutes, depending upon the temperature of the area it is placed and the temperature outside as well. The new stronger inner water bag virtually eliminates accidental activation. This also lengthens the shelf life even further, so you can enjoy being able to grab an instant cold pack for years to come, with the same great results!
Hope this helps.

Joy, you can buy bags of ice cubes or crushed ice (similar to those in US grocery stores) at most major gas stations in Germany - almost 24/7.
