I need helpful advice!

Hi! I'm going to be in berlin on the 16th and will be leaving budapest on new years day. I was wondering if Berlin -> Prague -> Munich -> Vienna -> Budapest would be too rushed? I don't mind dropping a city to make more time. To help, I am looking for good food, nice architecture, parks, and historicla landmarks. Thanks!

It's too rushed for my taste .You have fifteen days on this trip ( The arrival day is not very useful , as you will be tired from the flight , and departure day is just that ) . This leaves you three days for each city and travel between each of them is ( on average ) four to five hours , effectively killing the better part of a day . Having said this , if your plans to fly into Berlin and out of Budapest are firm , I would at the very least , cut Munich . I hate to say this as I love Munich , have been there twice and will return next fall . Logistically , it's only sensible . I would also divide my time so as to put more weight on Vienna and Budapest and , sadly , less time for Prague and Berlin .

Traveling by train? Munich might be too far out. A bit of a zigzag Prague--Munich--Vienna--Budapest.

I agree about skipping Munich this time. Have you considered stopping for a day at Dresden between Berlin and Prague? Before 1945, it was perhaps the most beautiful city in Europe, and an incredible amount of restoration has been made in recent years on the museums and architecture.
You'll be hitting each city's highlights with the time allotted, but they're all absolutely great cities.

With days for museums etc lost due to holidays, I too would drop Munich.

16-20 Berlin
20-24 Prague
24-28 Vienna (25th Xmas Day)
28-01 Budapest

One suggestion may be a single night stop in Dresden on the 20th, then just 3 nights in Prague.

Munich is out of your way so I agree with others. Next time. Berlin is the largest out of your cities and also you will go through jet lag there so I would give it 5 days. The other three cities will need at least 3 days each. You will find good food in all of your cities, gorgeous scenic views in Prague and Budapest. Nice architecture, parks and historical landmarks also in all of them. Excellent and cheap beer in Prague. I don't think you will have much time to stop in Dresden. By train: Berlin - Prague 5 hours, Prague - Vienna 4 hours, Vienna - Budapest 3 hours

I wont be having that much jetlag as i'll be flying from the UK so i won't be as tired as flying from the US

And i will be cutting munich off this time. I might visit Munich again during a weekend

Thanks everyone!
