My daughter is studying for six weeks in Lyon. She is staying in the premier (1st) arrondesment in lyon . I want to reserve a room in that area. Dows anyone know of a hotel or how I can go about getting any hotel. I tried the archives and google. I'm stuck. Any help is welcomed.

I tried Yahoo travel for Lyon and got to select which arrondissement; that site listed five hotels in the 1er:
Hotel Saint-Pierre des Terreaux 2 star
Grand Hotel Des Terreaux 3 star, highly rated on
Trip Advisor
and these unstarred hotels: Hotel Iris, Hotel de Paris, Hotel St-Vincent
Check those out; if they don't work out, try the TripAdvisor "Find a hotel near an address" function using your daughter's address [when you go to Lyon Hotels, it's on the top right].

Try vrbo.com ( vacation rentals by owner).
I have been succesful finding apartments/studios to rent on that site!!

There's a Sofitel right there in the middle of things (Rhone side). They're on the pricey side, but uniformly acceptable.
