Can anyone make any suggestions for me about staying in and around Munich . We are going to be there during Oktobefest (bad idea) from what I can see the prices of hotels are extreme. I wanted to stay at a place B&B or hotel for about 120 US . Is it possible. Does anyone know a place . Any help is gratefully appreciated. We have a car and will be there October 3 for two nights.
If you're not going to Octoberfest nor interested in paying inflated prices for hotels is there any way you could flip your dates with the place you are going to after October 4th or are you headed home after Munich?
It is Oktobefest, what to you expect? It is like stumbling into the Super Bowl weekend and thinking you will find discount hotel rates on Saturday night. You have be shift to another city unless Munich is critical to your schedule. Are you flying out of Munich?
Try Airbnb. I just checked and got a message saying "17% of the listings are still available, but you need to hurry". My wife and I have used Airbnb in Europe many times, rarely paying more than about $80, and never more than $105.
If it's a bad idea, then don't do it. Expect hotel prices in Munich to be elevated during Oktoberfest. That's a given. Most likely, you might not even find a room at all. I suggest staying outside of Munich at Oktoberfest, say Augsburg, still close enough to Munich.
Nurnberg is not far, either. If you are flying out of Munich, maybe an airport hotel for the last night?
Sorry, you say you are in trouble but never specify being in any trouble. What trouble are you in?
Thank you everyone for your responses.
